Subluxation is a term used in the chiropractic field to describe what happens when one of the vertebrae in your spine moves out of position.
Power comes from the power company to the fuse box in your home. Then, power goes to different parts of your home like the family room, basement, kitchen, and more. If you overload one area, you trip a breaker and have to reset the switch to restore the power.
Think of the power company as your brain, and the fuse box is your spine. Information is sent from your brain to all parts of your body. A subluxation occurs when you overload an area, much like a fuse box. But instead of the body shutting off power completely, it slows it down a lot, and stays like that until the subluxation gets removed and increases the flow of information from the brain to the body.
When one of the vertebrae in your spine moves out of position we can restore the misaligned vertebrae to the proper position in the spinal column. We do this manually by using the chiropractic procedure known as a spinal adjustment.
